ENVOYS OF IRAN, CHINA, MOROCCO, OTHERS, HOSTED BY BUHARI


Foreign dignitaries were hosted on wednesday by the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari at his temporary residence at the Defence House, Abuja.

The early callers at the President-elect's residence are the ambassadors of China, Israel, Iran, Morocco and Equatorial Guinea.

Mr. Gu Xiaojie, the ambassador of the Peoples Republic of China to Nigeria, spoke to reporters after emerging from his meeting with Buhari.

The meeting was to convey China's best wishes and deliver a special message from China's President, as well as discuss issues of mutual interest to the two countries.

Xiaojie said "On behalf of our President and people of China to the President-elect, we wish him the best."

As part of China's desire for collaboration with Nigeria, I and the President-elect discussed on some of the potential areas of investment.

Agriculture, infrastructure and other projects that are tailored to impact positively on the lives of the Nigerian people, are areas planned to be invested on.

Xiaojie also said that the Chinese government is ready to work with the incoming APC administration headed by Buhari, to further improve on the existing strategic partnership between China and Nigeria.

Xiaojie further said that China want's to elevate relations to a new height and develop it in a mutually beneficial manner based on what China, Nigeria have achieved in the past decades.

Uriel Palti, the Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria also expressed Israel's preparedness and readiness to build upon the existing cordial relationship it has with Nigeria.

Mr. Mostafa Bouh, the Moroccan envoy, on his part, said the recent diplomatic row between his country and Nigeria over a botched telephone call was now in the past.
