Kaduna State Governor-elect, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai's campaign coordinator, Markus Ishaya was killed by gunmen on tuesday.
It was said that the gunmen trailed Ishaya to his house in Atuku Kasa.
He was a very dedicated local campaign coordinator of the governor-elect.
The coordinator was shot several times by the yet-to-be-identified gunmen, according to the spokesman for the All Progressives Congress, Kaduna Campaign Council, Mr Samuel Aruwan.
Notification of the death by the deceased's family was sent to the APC in the state.
Facts have emerged that the killing of Ishaya has brought to ten the number of members of the APC that had been killed in the state before, during and after the elections.
A family source said he was shot repeatedly by heavily-armed two-man gang who stormed the residence of the APC chieftain.
"No item was taken in his residence except carrying out the ungodly act," the source added.
The Police have confirmed the incident, and have commenced investigation by visiting the scene of the crime.
In light to what has just happened, it is hoped that the security agencies will fully investigate this killing and prosecute the perpetrators.
"Irrespective of different status and standing, security agencies must adequately protect Nigerians."
The governor-elect, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai prayed for the soul of the deceased, while condoling with the family.
"Our prayers and empathy go to the family of Mr Markus Ishaya and the entire community over this callous murder and desecration of human life."
