Ahead of her Lauryn Hill Live in Concert, billed to be in Lagos today, was to take place at Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, but the 39-year old singer couldn't make it to Nigeria, due to flight issues.
She took to her official website to apologise to her fans in Nigeria who would have been left disappointed for her absence in the country tonight.
Hello Lagos, she wrote: Nigeria! We are disappointed to report that we will not be performing at tonight's concert.
We did everything from our end, including waiting at the airport for many hours, ready to fly out and share the evening with you. Unfortunately, after much effort, the promoter was not able to get all of our travel arrangement taken care of.
We were all very excited to come, but this prevented us from being able to fly into Nigeria in time to make the concert. We were all disappointed that we couldn't make this one.
We are working to reschedule our appearance however. The promoter, from what we've been told, intends to honor all tickets sold. Our best to and for Lagos. Love and Blessings! Ms. Lauryn Hill and the MLH band and Production Team.
