BENUE GOVERNOR-ELECT: AM A SECONDARY SCHOOL DROPPED OUT

Chief Samuel Ortom, the Benue State incoming Governor, has said his sojourn from motor park tout to an elected governor is a divine arrangement.

Hard work and firm belief in the grace of God is the reason for his elevation from grass to grace.

He said, I cast my mind back to when I dropped out of school in Form Two, but I remained hardworking and I did not engage in crime to survive or fend for myself.

Hard work pays, that's one thing I know and you must keep faith in God. Power belongs to God and He alone gives to whomever he will.

I dropped out of school due to lack of funds to pay school fees but that he did not go astray or engage in criminal activities to survive, the former Minister of State for Industry, Trade & Investment said.

Some party leaders he alleged, manipulated the delegate list of the People Democratic Party for the last April election in the state to thwart his bid to become the state governor.

He further said, "The process of selection of delegates in the last PDP governorship election was manipulated by the leadership of the party to thwart my ambition and frustrate the people who all supported me. But God vindicated me and blessed me, and now, I am an elected governor."
