MASSIVE THUMB PRINTING: INEC ARRESTS FIVE IN IMO
The Governorship election rerun in Imo State has seen five ad hoc officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission were on Saturday arrested for thumb-printing ballot papers.
One of the Resident Electoral commissioners, Mr Mike Igini, deployed in the state, ordered for the officials to be arrested at Omuma Primary School in Oru East Local Government Area.
Dr Gabriel Ada, the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Imo, who confirmed the arrest, said the officials were already in police custody.
It was gathered that the ad hoc workers connived with agents of a political party to thumb-print ballot papers leading to their arrest.
Following the arrest of 25 persons claiming to be INEC officials by military men has prompted the election to be cancelled in Ozuh Primary School, Omuma.
The arrested persons and the election materials in their possession were taken to the Oru East government headquarters.
